When I was a kid,
I'd keep pebbles underneath my feet
by running barefoot outside
and wading across creeks
and scaling giant mountains.
Now, it's as though I store the pebbles
inside of my poor legs.
Not enough moving,
not enough climbing,
Just sitting
and sitting
and turning
to stone.
